These are musicians who have been working together for years, and have a unique musical synergy, and an intensity of spirit and groove that delivers many rewards and surprises to the listener.
Dave's songwriting and keyboard artistry reflects many influences and many moods, from the adventurous acid-jazz/funk of 'Why Not?’, to the jazzy techno rock grooves of ‘QX5’, the hypnotic grooves of ‘Hannah' to the uplifting pop hooks of 'On Our Way', ‘Even Now’ and ‘Destiny’, the high energy funk and R&B of 'Freedom / Rising', to the swinging, gospel flavored boogie-woogie piano of ‘Never Enough', and the intriguing musical journeys of ‘Daybreak’ and ‘Undercover’.
This album and it’s title track, the high energy, driving funk of ‘Mosaic,’ marks the first collaboration with premier New Orleans tenor saxophonist and flautist, Amadee Castenell, who’s fiery and soulful melodies take the music to even greater heights. Dave and Amadee have now begun writing new music for the next release.
Dave was named Keyboard Magazine’s Unsigned Artist of the Month for July, 2002, and this new instrumental project and album, ‘Mosaic’ has also garnered interest in the Film/TV industry, as well as other media. A montage of these recordings was featured as part of Film Music Magazine's Sundance 2002 Compilation CD. Recent credits include The New England Sports Network and United Airlines.
The energy that pours from these tracks, and the freshness, vitality and depth of the melodies, grooves and musicianship draws the listener in and doesn’t let go.
