Donn Wyatt

In everything, there is a season for joy, triumph and victory. There are releases of the Spirit which transcend time, and there are musical compositions that are not bound by season but are enriched by the passage of seconds. Donn Wyatt has the good fortune to be one of those artists who can create a work which transcends time. Timeless is a gift. Timeless is the debut work of one of the world’s finest pianists.

The work that Donn has done with diverse artists such as Earth, Wind & Fire, Randy Crawford and Olivia Newton-John has propelled the independent release of Timeless ..a storybook of contemporary jazz pieces. During Quincy Jones’ protégée Tevin Campbell’s tour of South Africa, Donn was inspired to write the compelling "Pretoria Winds." If you close your eyes and listen, you will be caught up in the magic of that journey. Up late one night watching the reknowned Bishop T.D. Jakes, God spoke to Donn’s spirit. Donn responded in kind with the testimonial "Been So Good". "The Cobb" was coined by one of his favorite chanteuses Merry Clayton-Amy, she says "cause he’s sweet like peach cobbler" it also happens to be his favorite dessert. You must have a taste of Timeless.

Donn is a multi-faceted musician whose talents are seemingly endless. Its in his blood. His mother, a doctor of music, an educator, opera singer and choral director; his father a celebrated vocalist, both background singers for Nat King Cole, and his only brother an extraordinarily gifted musician. Upon graduation from Beverly Hills High School, Donn enrolled in the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, and later continued his studies at the University of Southern California majoring in Music Education and Conducting.

Donn has served as Music Director for saxophone giant Dave Koz, pop superstar Kenny Loggins and R&B great Bill Withers. George Duke, music director extraordinaire, recruited Wyatt to join Elektra Recording artist Anita Baker on tour, and lists a veritable "Who’s Who" as his clientele. Donn has ventured into other areas of musical production, his film debut being, "Maid To Order" starring Ally Sheedy. He’s also produced and composed radio promotion campaigns for popular Los Angeles radio station KTWV, 94.7 The Wave, incorporating live performances from all-star jazz artists Stanley Clarke, Boney James, Joe Sample, Keiko Matsui and Everette Harp.

Now has come the time "Timeless" is a work that crosses the spectrum from the dynamic opening of "A New Millenium Praise" to the soothing title track "Timeless" which is a dedication to survivors. Donn sentiments that Timeless is healing and dedicates this project to God "who has blessed me and continues to bless me." * * *

The Donn Wyatt Orchestra debutted "Timeless" at a special performance for the United Way at the House of Blues in Los Angeles, California.
