Veteran music publicist Cheryl Hughey has just released a new ebooklet, “Music Promotion for Everyone, Volume 1.” Designed to fit the growing needs of music students, this short collection of essays covers the subjects of leadership, salesmanship, marketing, communication skills, roles of industry professionals, appearance bookings and social media.

The Midwest School of Voice is proud to announce the grand opening on August 13-14, 2011.  A groundbreaking school focusing on all aspects of vocal performance, their goal is to make individual coaching accessible and beneficial to all styles of music. Dwayne Kerr, flutist for Erykah Badu, recently announced his endorsement with GUO Musical Instruments Co. As a frequently touring artist, Kerr is a great match for this maker of composite flutes. ianist Monika Herzig has been actively involved in sharing and teaching the rich history of jazz.  One of her current endeavors, The Jazz Legacy of Indiana Project is designed to "raise awareness about the rich jazz legacy of Indiana as well as jazz as a creative means of expression," said Herzig, who is a recording artist with Owl Studios. Herzig notes that the entire project will be documented on video, and a curriculum and documentary will be made available online for interested teachers and students.
