Music Journal by Marcelo Zarvos

Music Journal is a wonderful jazz CD, filled with world music influences and classic contemporary jazz motifs! All music is composed by pianist Marcelo Zarvos, and every selection is different and original. Marcelo Zarvos is interviewed by producer Todd Garfinkle in the accompanying notes, and this gives insight into the varied musical background of the young Brazilian pianist and composer, and discusses his goals as a composer and what he was creating with "Music Journal."

The musicians soar in this unusual and beautiful sound masterpiece. Every instrument has a thought to express and share with the jazz listener, and does it very well! There is a sense of gentle wonder in this imaginative music! There are 8 selections on this CD, such as "Forro en Curuipe," "While She Sleeps," "Avenida Paulista," "In a Doorway."
