Harold Arlen: Centennial Celebration (2CD set) by Various Artists

Harold Arlen (1905 - 1986) composed over 400 songs during his lifetime. This 2CD set contains his best known songs by various artists. There are a total of twenty-five songs in this collection. Among the fine songs and their artists are "As Long As I Live" performed by Ernestine Anderson, "That Old Black Magic" performed by Carol Sloane, "Any Place I Hang My Hat Is Home" performed by Rosemary Clooney, "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate The Positive" performed by Monica Mancini, "Over the Rainbow" performed by Jack Sheldon with Ross Tompkins," "Come Rain Or Come Shine" performed by Bill Evans Trio," "It's Only A Paper Moon" performed by Miles Davis featuring Sonny Rollins, and "One For My Baby (And One More For The Road)" performed by Wes Montgomery.

This 2CD collection will have an appeal to a wide range of listeners. It would be a nice set to have placed in your local Public Library for listening patrons, and would also be a fine gift for a friend and your home library.

Top production values. Great listening entertainment! George Gershwin called Harold Arlen "the most original of us all" and Arlen's music shines in this excellent collection.
