I'm From Phunkville by Mem Shannon

In his 5th CD, New Orleans bluesman Mem Shannon carries on the traditions of the Crescent City’s music. While the city’s musical styles differ widely, the sound is immediately identified as New Orleans.

Shannon offers a big bag of his own new songs. His lyrics place him among the masters of "social comment." Shannon claims that 15 years as a cab driver provided him with ideas for his songs. He still classes himself as a people watcher and it shows in his music. This bluesman doesn’t pull his punches.

Mem Shannon is blessed with a great voice too. Listen to his delivery of Perfect World, Phunkville and the witty I’ll Kiss A Pitbull. Accompanied by some of the finest sidemen in the Big Easy, Shannon delivers the goods. It’s good blues!
