In My Time by Charlie Musselwhite

For those who enjoy the harmonica in a jazz, swing, or blues setting, this is a great introduction to Charlie Musselwhite through these sixteen selections such as "Stingaree," "Ain't It Time," "Midnight Mama," and "Movin' and Groovin." Musselwhite has long been considered on the finest grand masters of blues harmonica, and on this cd he is also playing guitar and does two numbers with The Blind Boys of Alabama. What makes Musselwhite stand out, is that like fellow harmonica performer Toots Thielemans, he has a perfect ear for harmony and lyrical approach to the heart of each song he performs. Listen to "When It Rains It Pours" and "Casual Friend" and discover his talents. One of the best releases out by Charlie Musselwhite. An enjoyable listening adventure!

Musselwhite's group of musicians on this CD include Gene Taylor on piano, Felton Crews on bass, and in case you have always been curious as to who does the singing in The Blind Boys of Alabama, they are -- Clarence Fountain, Jimmy Carter, Curtis Foster, and Bobby Butler. A well-crafted musical adventure for Musselwhite fans and those new to his special approach to harmonica playing!
