Brazilian Dreams by Paquito D'Rivera feat. New York Voices and Claudio Roditi

It seemed everywhere I went this day and evening I was listening to BRAZILIAN DREAMS, either at home, on the road, or in my thoughts! What a great listening adventure this new collection of music turned out to be.

Paquito D'Rivera is a master storyteller of song, and this is one of his finest recordings to date whether he is playing his special style on the clarinet, or on alto saxophone. Claudio Roditi on trumpet is another outstanding asset to this CD, and every musician gives his or her finest.

There are 10 spellbinding, lovely songs on BRAZILIAN DREAMS, and the surreal beauty of the music is memorable. Songs include "Corcovado," "One For Tom," one of the finest renditions of "Maha De Carnival/Gentle Rain" found in recent years, "Desafinado," "Modinha," "Meu Amigo," "A Ra," "Retrato Em Branco E Preto," "Red On Red," and the imaginative "Snow Samba." The "voices" of the New York Voices are superb.

This is a classic Brazilian music collection, and it is something all jazz listeners can appreciate, enjoy, and want to have in their CD library collections. BRAZILIAN DREAMS is one of the very finest collections of music released in the year 2002. It has great charm, class, and entertainment. This is a joyful listening experience, one to savor and recall often. There is nobody that plays the clarinet just like Paquito D'Rivera, for he is truly an original.

Buy a copy for yourself and one for a friend. BRAZILIAN DREAMS is a perfect musical companion any time, any place, any where! Highly recommended.
