New World Funk Ensemble by New World Funk Ensemble

Turnipseed usually known for its great live contemporary jazz recordings has tried something a little neoteric. Turnipseed presents a new group, New World Funk Ensemble, that is going to make you look at jazz, funk and world music all in a different light. That new light brings these genres together to create an interesting blend of music that will take you back to the days of funk, bring you into the world music arena and blare through with jazz at its best.

If you are looking for something different to add a little spice to your jazz collection, this is the one. New World Funk Ensemble assembles a potent and very lively horn section, (comparable to the horns of Earth, Wind and Fire) rough and gritty vocals of Loren Pickford, and guitar solos for all. Loren has one of those unique and very memorable voices that gets into the heart and soul of the listener. I can't wait for this group to tour! They would be great in person.
