This 2-CD offering from Germany’s top drums & bass label Basswerks, features "The Green Man," "Taxidriver," and other artists throughout this often, thrusting slice of electronica. And of course these tracks are quite danceable, owing to the global DJ/Club scene.
The predominant drums & bass element is somewhat supercharged, yet the various groups rarely lose a grip on matters. With this effort, you’ll hear melodic sound-shaping activities and quirky synth themes atop fast-paced grooves. Some of the musicians venture into hyper-mode type vibes, and with "The Giana Brothers" work titled "Crossed Roots," the muse evolves into a digitally manipulated, heavy-metal slant.
Many of these works boast flotation-like themes riding atop the often cyclical rhythmic patterns along with oscillating, male and female incantations. Other highlights include shifting electronic overlays and pounding straight-four beats. Nonetheless, a good time was had by all, or so it seems. (Recommended.... )
