Intuition by François Carrier Trio

The François Carrier Trio gives us deep devotional heart-felt musical expression in their latest release, "Intuition". This Québec City-based jazz trio is comprised of François Carrier on alto sax, Pierre Côté on bass, and François Côté on drums. "Intuition" is of the improvisation jazz genre. There are many improvisational groups expressing themselves through jazz, however I found this trio to offer a true spiritual journey in their new release. Notes and rhythms come straight out of the soul to be expressed in a dynamic musical form. When François Carrier was asked about the foundation and motivation of his music he said, "I attach more importance to the soul of music than to its technical aspect. For me, emotion is the most important. Improvisation comes from intuition and intuition comes from the heart. After that, everything becomes easy and spontaneous. Nothing left to lose, nor to gain." As a participant in this experience you can relate to a musician's challenge to express themselves and their life's joys and pains to you, "the listener" through the movement of every sound or rhythm. You will find yourself drawn into the music that is, "Intuition". Enjoy!
