The Dream of Olwen by Roger Cairns

Roger Cairns love for ballads is obvious when listening to his new album The Dream of Olwen. Roger gentle yet powerful voice was made to sing this kind of songs. There is a classy quality on his voice that reminds me of singers like

The Dream of Olwen is a wonderful collection of ballads perfect for a romantic evening. The duo format of just voice and the beautiful piano playing of Gary Fukushima creates an intimate, relaxing mood.

Roger chose some of his favorites songs for this project, like Johnny Mandel "Where do you start", "Solitary Moon" and "Don’t look back", his fabulous rendition of Peggy Lee "I’m in love again", the classics "You must believe in spring", Rodgers "Wait till you see her", Leo Robin "In love in vain" and even an original that gives title to the album "The Dream of Olwen".

The album also includes the songs, "Don’t look back", "Ebb Tide", "Blackberry winter", "I’ll be around", "For all we know". All this in an intimate setting of just the voice of Roger Cairns and the wonderful work on piano by Gary Fukushima, perfect for the songs and mood of the album. If you also love ballads this is the right album for you.
