Day by Day by Terry Steele

Day by Day, hits the ground running and never stops to look back. His rendition of Luther Vandross' "Here and Now," is harmonically angelic as is his duet with the effervescent, Patti LaBelle on "You Are Everything." The funky "So Strange," is more R&B as is "My Good, featuring Hyphen Tirade," whose rap is powerful. Other songs, "I'm Feeling You," and the a cappella "Day by Day," are wonderful surprises to this mostly Smooth Jazz CD. The only drawback is that the title song is broken up throughout the CD into 30 to 50 second snipetts and it is only until farther down the CD do you hear most of the song in it's entirety. But the rest of the CD proves that Terry Steele can write music for everyone's moods: jazz, gospel, R&B and hip hop.
