Nura by Nura

Smooth Jazz lovers will like Nura. Her vocals are playful on "Hangin'" a funky, rap inspired number. The background vocals are tight as are the rest of the musicians on this CD. I especially enjoy "We're Not Alone," an easy dance number or Nura's scatting on "Secret." The opening piano solo on "Luminescence" is a little long and there are no real vocals, just doodling along. But the instrumentals are clear, crisp and enjoyable. This album professes to cross musical boundaries and it does it so eloquently.
