Gold Coast by Rhian Benson

I think Rhian's album is great. I love the songs "the one" and "young girl" which really touched me. I also love the song ‘Spirit’ which is in the Ashanti language which reminds us Rhian's West African heritage (she is from Ghana with a British mother). Moreover, I think she is so talented: her voice is really unique, she wrote all her songs and also plays guitar and keyboards. I first listen her CD because of all the good press reviews that I read like in Vibe and I am not disappointed : her music is a mix of soul, world beat, jazz and reggae. It is in the style of singers like Bilal, Jill Scott, Sade. For me, it is really the album of the year even more since I saw her in concert, she is amazing.
