Private Stock by Various Artists

Private Stock has the right amount of ingredients to make a successful R&B, jazz, funky compilation. The cover boasts of smooth metropolitan grooves triple distilled with the most sensual ingredients and remixed to perfection and it is.

There are three tracks by Jarrard Anthony on here and they are R&B to the maximum. Bobby Lyle featuring Howard Hewitt supplies us with a song called ‘Caught Up’ and it is not hard to get caught up in its tenderness. Track eight is a funky little story told by Alyson Williams featuring Tony Terry about relationship and she is having second thoughts about going to the altar, something that all may not want to go through combined with the right amount a funk, R&B an the vocals counter play with Tony Terry this song may be the best on the album. David Dyson’s ‘Badlands’ is a saxophone/trumpet sounding solo with a thumb tapping bassline.

This compilation produced by Marcus Johnson and whom himself gets a few tracks on here especially one called ‘Funk Master’ which does not have to many beats per minute just enough to make it standout than what is already out there and well there is some great piano runs as well and another producing credit to Rob Chalmers give this CD its flavor. This is a great late night compilation to play after a hard day of work, just to relax to. Total R&B vibe. Get this to explore new artists.
