OFAM Music Director and Conductor James Paul and Jazz Advisor Dick Hyman return to Eugene for this rich and varied extravaganza of music. Evening events include a full-production of the 1992 Tony Award-winning "new" Gershwin musical Crazy for You!, four other concerts of jazz, classical and popular music, and a dinner-dance. Five more matinee concerts explore the rep-ertoire more deeply, and a large variety of free events fill out the bill. These include a film series, a lecture series and a series of free public recitals featuring festival guest artists and student performers.
Guest artists include: Doug Miller, bass; Ken Peplowski, saxophone and clarinet; Scott Robinson, contra bass saxophone; Randy Sandke, trumpet; Derek Smith, piano; Ian Whitcomb, ukulele; William Wolfram, piano; Lenanne Sylvester and Shirley Sachs, vocals; and Stephen Stone & The Emerald City Jazz Kings.
