Ronald Turner and The Fashion Statement is a 2003 Smoothie award winner from Smoothjazz.com. They are a professional, clean-cut group of musicians that give their musical best to put joy in the minds and hearts of listeners through our deeply felt creativity. Our group was established in 1990 as a jazz/funk ensemble. We consist of musically well-educated instrumentalists utilizing saxophones, keyboards, electric bass, and drums. We play a variety of music ranging from smooth jazz, contemporary/straight ahead jazz to funk and blues. Each player in the group is a multi-talented musician having played with world-renowned artists like Dizzy Gillespie to contemporary artist Maxwell.
Ronald Turner’s current smooth/funk jazz CD, It’s All About Love, is his first project and is getting rave reviews from radio stations and Internet broadcasters around the world. Ronald’s over seven hundred fifty (750) 30-second TV advertisements in the central Los Angeles/Compton/Watts community through Comcast Cable on CNN, BET, ESPN, and The Food Network have helped to immensely boost CD sales and his notoriety with the local VIP record stores. According to the marketing manager at a VIP record store, Ronald Turner’s CD, It’s All About Love, outsold the number one R & B CD in America, Ruben Studdard, during the weeks of January 18-31, 2004. Ronald’s Comcast Cable TV ads are scheduled to continue on CNN, The Food Network, and BET through late May 2004. Radio ads were also aired in late 2003 on radio station KJLH in Los Angeles.
