VLAD WEST, known in Russia as Vladimir Sermakashev, was a child prodigy. Born in Baku (Russia) he studied piano from age 3, composition from age 5. At that early age he was playing solo piano concerts at Baku Conservatory and was taking composing and arranging lessons with well known professors. Mr. West has technique and knowledge of classical and jazz music well beyond ordinary piano player. As Mr. Starr (president of Oberlin College, Jazz Study) said about V. West in one of his books on jazz: "In his combination of grittiness and lyricism, blues feeling and sheer drive, he has few equals, in Europe certainly and even in America."

Wataru Uchida is a saxophonist originally from Japan, who studied jazz performance as an apprentice of Chico Freeman. He succeeds Freeman's fat tenor sound, which is the Chicago tradition. Uchida's first album, Blue Morpho, is dedicated to Baden Powell, the legendary guitarist of Brazil.

With a music career spanning over two decades, guitarist and songwriter, Joel Del Rosario has just about touched every genre of music from: Classical, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Southern Gospel. Classically trained in Viola, Joel studied, performed, as second chair in the San Francisco School of the Arts Orchestra. Though winning several competitions with the renowned SOTA orchestra, he felt the pull to venture into the world of jazz, which began his love affair with the genre, and would later envelop a majority of his music career.

Organizers of the annual Buffalo Music Awards may want to consider renaming its Saxophonist of the Year award the Jack Prybylski Award – in November 2010, Prybylski (pronounced Purr-bill-ski) took home the top honor for the 11th time. "Even though it's on a regional scale, it's very flattering to be nominated by your peers," Prybylski says. And although musicians nominated artists, the general public selected winners.

Tony Adamo, a former radio announcer, turned Hollywood agent, turned singer/songwriter was born in San Francisco, California. His family has strong ties to the Bronx and Brooklyn, New York. Adamo's writing career actually started during his tour of duty during the Gulf War. The 15-hour workdays that involved loading missiles and bombs on ships were exhausting but, he found that the exotic scenery enticed him to write. Having been a songwriter for many years, he began creating music about his experiences in the Middle East. Although these songs were never recorded, Adamo found writing set him on his path for what was to come.
