Essential Jazz Lines in the Style of Bill Evans by Corey Christiansen and Per Danielsson

I enjoyed playing around on my piano with ESSENTIAL JAZZ LINES IN THE STYLE OF BILL EVANS, and the accompanying play-along CD was both enjoyable and instructive. This instruction book also contains 3 pages of blank music for those who wish to write down variations of their own, or to experiment with phrasing.

There is a section about Bill Evans who died in 1980. Another section discusses the language of jazz and there are enjoyable sections on scales including Be-Bop scales, targeting, minor chord vamps, one measure ii-V, play alongs which include short ii-V vamps and moving in fourths, turnarounds, and play along recordings. The information on Be-Bop is invaluable.

Corey Christiansen began playing guitar at age five and Per Danielsson started piano at age nine. Per can be reached for further information at This email address is being protected from spambots.
