What a great rendition with Davis, Joe Johnson on piano, John Whitfield on bass, and Isaac Redd Holt, drums, in "Honeysuckle Rose." There is also a Joe Johnson piano solo on "I Let A Song Out Of My Heart," and for those of you who don't know this enduring piano musician's piano music, this is a fine way to discover him!

Another classic rendition on this cd is the old standard, "Try A Little Tenderness." For a female blues vocals release, this is a great way to start the year 2000, for this cd has style, class, and a special blues magic all its own.
