CENTER OF THE WORLD is 64:33 minutes of well-crafted and lyrical contemporary jazz which is bound to attract the attention of many jazz listeners in this debut CD from musicians Marcus and Moritz. Many, many good things going for it! As a debut work, CENTER OF THE WORLD is solid, it has style and get up and go about it, and the selections are original, written by either Marcus or Moritz.

This CD is a showcase for each of the performers, and it is accurate to state that Dan Lutz and his bass give some of the finest bass solos created this year, anywhere! Take a close listen to the excellence of performances found on the unusual selection, "Xanadu," and "Pretty," among others. Mark Ferber is an excellent backup for the group and gives a subtle sense of excitement with his active playing!

The 9 selections include "Xanadu," "It's Pretty Too," "Pass the Juice," "Pretty," "The Center of the World is a Crowded Place," "Through My Eyes," "Ant Ethics," "Snippet," and "Oye." Each song is expressive and entertaining listening!
