East/West Highway by Shahin & Sepehr

I was completely enchanted with the clarity and exotic rhythms found on the CD release, EAST/WEST HIGHWAY. Incredibly fine musicianship abounds in this lovely collection of 18 songs.

Each song is special, each song is well-crafted, and each song has excellent performances! Among the songs are "East/West Highway," "Body & Soul," the enchanting "October Moon," "Jakarta," "Lost Words," "Yasmine," "Through Your Eyes," among others.

Jazz listeners will delight in the rhythm work of Shahin on lead guitar with Sepehr on rhythm guitar and keyboards. Moon Jewad adds his magical touch on bass, joined in with the talents of Michael Bard on rhythm guitar and Wes Crawford on drums & percussion.

This is a best of collection, and it is excellent. I have five cats, each is a veteran jazz listener in the household, and they certainly enjoyed this collection. In fact, my cat named Wiz honored three of these wonderful selections ("October Moon," "Middle of the Night," "Cante Kian") with a little cat dance all his own!
