Taken By Surprise by Norman Hedman

TAKEN BY SURPRISE is a lively collection of Latin jazz with a shading of world music. 13 selections. These songs include "Felicidad," "Taken By Surprise," "Rages to Riches," "Can't Sell A Secret," "Just For Ruby," among others.

With Norman Hedman leading out on congas and percussion, there are numerous solo performances that make this one of the most lively of Latin jazz CDs to come out this year! Guests artists include George Cables on piano, and Ahmad Alladeen on soprano saxophone.

Special attention should be noted for the very fine piano stylings of Misha Tsyganov, and some jazz listeners may see him as a Latin jazz version of a young Bill Evans at the piano! Misha Tsyganov is an incredibly fine jazz pianist, and this solo work he does in this collection is an enjoyable introduction to his unique creativity!

All musicians perform with gusto and sensitivity, and make this CD collection into a worthwhile, happy adventure! TAKEN BY SURPRISE is just that, and more, and it is Latin jazz at its finest! Entertaining and alive with the joy of Latin jazz!
