Siete by Willie and Lobo

SIETE, meaning the number 7, is a remarkable CD, a blend of jazz, world music, interlaced with the influence of Gypsy motifs! It features the team of Willie Royal on violin and Wolfgang "Lobo" Fink on guitar. This is a fresh, innovative explosion of sensual sound, and excellent performances. Solo work by each performer is perfect.

There are 11 selections on this CD and each is enjoyable to the jazz listener's ears, each having its own unique sounds, spice, and motifs. The selections are "Cabo Oeste;" "Night in Hana;" a great piece deserving of much jazz radio airplay time titled "Gypsy Blue;" "Pacifico;" "Funkytano;" "Tatiana;" "Vista Bahia;" "Havana Vieja;" "Seven Veils;" "Olo Molina's Tango." I listened to this CD four times and came away with the knowledge that this duo is a class act with plenty of style and vision!

If you have not heard the work of Willie and Lobo, SIETE is an excellent introduction to some excellent world jazz! Give it a listen! You won't be disappointed with this special blend of jazz musings!
