DONDE ESTAS? is a CD that will captivate you with its sensual blend of salsa, bolero, Latin jazz, and the merengue! It is the type of music that will urge you to get involved and sway to the music as it becomes a part of your listening enjoyment. Latin X-posure is more than just a Latin X-posure! It is a group with leader-pianist-composer Patrick Kelly at the helm, including four major vocalists whose voices light up the night: Llilian Valdes, Maribel Andrade, Maria Alvarez, and Laura Toscaris. The accompanying musicians includes performers of well-known talent such as Joe Gaudio on baritone and alto saxophones, Clarence Pawn on trombone, Gary Winters on trumpet, Brian Schwab on trumpet, Victor Velez on congas, Chris Velez on bongos and campana, Michael Sharfe on bass, and the gifted Miguel Maldonado on timbales and guiro.

Maribel Andrade is lead vocalist, and her voice is lovely and sensual in its own way as are the other three female vocalists. Give a close listen to these ladies of Latin jazz, for they are excellent! Maribel Andrade is in top form with her "Yo Quiero Mas" and Brian Schwab and Gary Winters give outstanding trumpet sounds on "Cubanita." "You Soy La Voz" is yet another fine selection from the 10 selections on this CD.

The last selection is a very creative and spirited version of the Beatles' "Ob La Dee, Ob La Da." Laura Toscaris gives the jazz listener a fine bolero in the love song titled "I Thought I heard You Call My Name."

Listening to the four female vocalists is worth the price of the CD alone, but to have all these other performers as well, is like walking into a gold mind and striking paydirt!

If you like Latin jazz at its best, this CD is worth your time and you will find much to enjoy in the selections. DONDE ESTAS? is a contemporary classic Latin jazz CD featuring a well-polished and gifted group named Latin X-posure, and it is something that would make a great gift for a friend, or a lover, or a companion. A perfect five stars on this CD.
