The Night I Fell For You by Steve March Torme

The night I bought this CD I was seeing Steve March Torme in person at the Jazz Bakery in LA. He is good on the CD and even better in person. He was fighting a cold but sounding good and seemed to be enjoying the evening anyway. This second CD has more original material but is just as swinging as the first. I like the upbeat things best, "Pocket Personality", "The Late, Late Show","A Lotta Love For You" "Just You and Me". The slower "Woman as Wave" and "Melancoly Monday" were interesing and I like the melodies. I fell for the great diction and ease and enjoyment he shows when he performs. It's a satisfying experience to sit back and listen to lyrics that are fully articulated thoughts and music that fits them like a glove.
