I enjoy the guitar. I love jazz. But I have never really listened to a lot of Middle Eastern influenced music. This was very different for me. The first song, "Luki" has that Pat Metheny style. It's has a quick and staccato style. The vocals help. The musicians are playing live and at times the music seems to go at it's own pace. At other times it moves really slow. The second tune, "Shringar" lasts about 26 minutes and I'm not really sure what the musicians were trying to accomplish here. "Giriraj Sudha" starts out slow and then picks up the tempo, almost to a dance beat. There are vocals on this one. The last tune, "Bell'Alla" is another one that starts out slow, picks up the pace, almost dance like, and returns to the slow pace again. I'm not sure what the musicians were going for here. But I think I hear shades of the Mahavishnu Orchestra. It was one of the best fusion groups of the 1970s. If you like adventure, you'll like this CD.
