Trumpet player Chris Botti's Columbia debut CD Night Sessions is remarkable hard driving improvasation that breathes with energy and passion. Each composition is thoughtfully wrapped in sultry soulful melodies, leaving no notes untouched.

Botti's finesse is well showcased, accompanied by dynamic talents the likes of Billy Childs on acoustic piano, Vinnie Colaiuta and Abe Laboriel, Jr. on drums, Christian McBride on upright bass, Jimmy Johnson on electric bass and vocals by Shawn Colvin who only adds to the wealth of mellowness that is Night Sessions.
