Ed Calle is one of the finest, most versatile saxophone players performing today in jazz. His new CD release, TWILIGHT, is memorable smooth jazz with excellent solo work from each musician. Jim Gasior on piano and Arturo Sandoval on trumpet, are two of the performers that give additional touches of class to this fine collection of 13 selections.

Ed Calle starts the collection with his own composition, "Joyful," and continues with "Love After Dark," "Smooth Dude," the haunting & lovely "Twilight," "Bar Talk," the Neil Sedaka/Phil Cody composition "Laughter in the Rain," "Spanish Rose," "Lovin' You," "Lover's Lane," "Sari's Song" (a lovely jazz piece sure to catch the attention of all jazz listeners with its jazz motifs and harmony, "Bud & Sandy," and "Strut." Doug Emery gives us some excellent piano solos on several of these songs, and a notable performance on "Strut."

If you are looking for something refreshingly original, give Ed Calle and TWILIGHT a listen to, for you won't be disappointed with this collection. Every song is enjoyable.
