Quintet Legacy by Voice

If you would like to hear some of the finest quintet work coming out of South Africa, please allow me to suggest you purchase a copy of the innovative group called Voice. Voice is Sydney Mnisi, Marcus Wyatt, Andile Yenana, Herbie Tsoaeli, and Lulu Gontsana. Their CD release, QUINTET LEGACY, is flawless, and as near perfect a recording as I have come across in a long time featuring a quintet.

Every time I listen to this contemporary jazz collection, I experience something new, some new shared feeling, and it is an enjoyable experience. The South African sound of jazz is unique and full of life.

Selections include "Sinivile (We Heard You)," "Sweet Anathi," "Jessica," "Blues For Green," "Phindille," "Khumbul'l Khaya," "Lakutshon' Ilanga," and "Under Pressure." 8 selections of blissful contemporary jazz. The piano work of Andile Yenana is classic jazz playing at its best. Every musician is a master of his instrument in this collection, and the solo work is memorable.

QUINTET LEGACY is a unique jazz listening experience from South Africa. Voice is one of the finest quintet groups performing today. High production values, flawless recording.
