Zimphonic Suites by Zim Ngqawana

Zim Ngqawana is a most unique composer, and Sheer Sound of South Africa has issued his jazz collection in the CD release titled ZIMPHONIC SUITES. The work is created with the sounds of various instruments, and each performer is excellent with his or her solo work.

This collection deserves a wide listening audience for its unique approaches to jazz motifs and unusual melodies. There are 17 pieces in this magnificent jazz work, a perfect marriage of world music and contemporary jazz.

I enjoyed each selection. Some of the selections are "Royal Drumming," "Diviners Ceremony," "Bantu," "Old Blues," "Sad Afrika," "Man and Woman," "Two to Tangle," "Chisa," "Beautiful Love," among others.

ZIMPHONIC SUITES is classic new world music, its jazz motifs crystal clear and memorable. For something incredibly well-crafted, entertaining, and magical in its scope and visionary nature, give this collection a listen. ZIMPHONIC SUITES is excellent. A great listening adventure.
