Trio Fattoruso by Trio Fattoruso

A really fresh and satisfying fusion release from this family trio. Over forty years ago, brothers Hugo and Jorge Fattoruso were playing in street festivals in Uruguay. Today they team up with Hugo's son Francisco on electric bass for some truly invigorating, consistent fusion. It's wonderfully apparent they've been playing together a long time. The interplay among the trio, and particularly between Jorge and Francisco is at times quite astonishing. All too often in the fusion realm we hear tremendously talented musicians playing at the same time but not really sounding as if they're playing together. The members of Trio Fattoruso are able to demonstrate their individual talents as players without a lot of mindless noodling while being able to lift it up a level while playing as a group. In addition to the top notch playing, the compositions are a breath of fresh air, the musical ideas keep changing without sounding unfocused or out of place.
