SPIRIT GANG is a collection of 9 contemporary jazz songs with a touch of fusion and funk added. The group is Bob Sabin on bass, Robert Di Pietro on drums, with leader Mark Stanley on guitar. Some of the songs include "The Big Valley," "Bonnie Blue," "Bandit," "Rat Funk," "Washington," among others. This collection has a get-up-and-go to it that is lively and entertaining. The musicians act as one and do some nice solo work. The harmony is solid. "Bonnie Blue" is a treat and gets in some nice jazz motifs in an unusual manner. Performances are solid and livley on SPIRIT GANG by Spirit Gang.
