Lisa Lauren's My Own Twist CD - My Own Twist, the second independent release by the multi-faceted artist Lisa Lauren, brilliantly showcases her extraordinary talents as a pianist/singer/songwriter. The 10-track CD contains eight original tunes, a delightfully, refreshing cover of Carole King's "Sweet Seasons" featuring Howard Levy on harmonica and a seductive cover of The Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun".

David Sanborn, who contributed to a cover of The Beatles' "Can't Buy Me Love" on her debut What Comes Around, rejoins Lisa on her "A Shame", a cool jazz tune with sassy lyrics brimming with attitude. Fellow Chicagoan Steve Cole offers a tender soprano sax line which beautifully compliments Lisa's yearning vocals on her romantic "A Little Romance".

Lisa Lauren's ability to combine her jazz background with her heartfelt lyrical deliveries on covers of classic pop tunes is exemplary. While many artists' interpretations of classic tunes only hint at the original melodies, Lauren's jazzy interpretations not only preserve the original melodies but reveal even more of their hidden beauty.

"For all the hype in 2002 surrounding jazz hybrid vocalist Norah Jones, she can't really hold a candle to the far superior, multi-faceted Lauren..." AllMusic.com This reviewer fully agrees. Lisa Lauren artistic abilities place her in league with such great artists as Carole King and Carly Simon.

My Own Twist has class written all over it. Highly recommended.
