Triangulo by Michel Camilo

For those jazz piano fans waiting for the latest release of composer/pianist Michel Camilo, here it is, and they will be delighted with his TRIANGULO, a ten selection CD that showcases this pianist's intricate style and technique. Michel Camilo was born in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic, in 1954, and he composed his first musical composition at age 5 years old.

Accompanied by Anthony Jackson on bass and Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez on drums, Michel Camilo leads his trio through some fascinating jazz motifs. "Piece of Cake," "La Comparsa," "Afterthought," "Anthony's Blues," "Just Like You," and "Las Dos Lorettas" are among the songs on this CD collection. "Afterthought" is a sweet and bluesy song, one that deserves much airplay.

This is an unforgettable collection, and one of the best trio works to come out this year. "Las Dos Lorettas" is a memorable listening adventure, a performance that the listener will come back to often.

A highly active composer, Michel Camilo has the same complex emotional imagery in his work as did the late composer/pianist, George Gershwin. There is a sweet intensity about Michel Camilo's performances that sets him apart from many jazz pianists, and marks him as a true original.

TRIANGULO is a showcase collection for the performances of Michel Camilo, and one of his finest CD releases to date. Firstrate all the way.

Flawless performances. Every selection is a gem and sparkles with life!
