Things To Come by The Dizzy Gillespie Alumni All-Star Big Band

THINGS TO COME is a great tribute to everything creative & innovative that was the man, Dizzy Gillespie. This CD collection of 11 songs is big band at its finest. Among the selections are "Stablemates," "Things To Come," "'Round Midnight," "Whisper Not," "A Night in Tunisia," "Love Come Back To Me," among others. A fine collection, flawless in approach and production values, and outstanding as a big band entry.

"Emanon" features the gifted jazz pianist Renee Rosnes accompanied by Jay Ashby on Trombone, Jon Faddis on trumpet, and James Moody on tenor saxophone. Renee Rosnes has style and feel, and her solo work is excellent. "I Remember Clifford" features the solo work of Terell Stafford on trumpet, and this is a memorable song, filled with fine sound and emotion. "Whisper Not" features the solo work of master trumpeter John Faddis, accompanied by pianist Renee Rosens, Antonio Hart on alto saxophone, and Jimmy Heath on tenor saxophone. Each selection is a gem of jazz expression.
