Field Recordings Volume 15, Mississippi 1941 - 1942 by Asa Ware David Edwards Roxie Threadgill Sid Hemphil

These are remarkable blues historical documents, painstakingly restored so that the vocals and performances come across well and without distortion. There are a total of 23 selections on this CD, and the collection will be of great interest to blues historians as well as for those who enjoy hearing the early blues performed.

Asa Ware performs "The Boll Weevil," and there is Roxie Treadgill performing "Rock, Daniel," among others in this collection. An unusual and interesting highlight among many is Sid Hemphill performing "So Soon I ll Be At Home."

This is a firstrate collection of field recordings compiled by Johnny Parth. A fine and unusual blues listening experience.
