This is a musical feast for fans of Woody Herman. A 2CD set, featuring "Live At The Concord Jazz Festival" and "World Class." There are so many artists participating in this collection that it is amazing, and the sounds are perfect big band entertainment in all respects.

The collection titled "Live At The Concord Jazz Festival" (1982) has 9 songs including "Things Ain't What They Used To Be," "Midnight Run," "Especially For You," "Lemon Drop," among others. Pianist John Oddo's compositions "Especially For You" and "North Beach Breakdown" are a special treat along with his composition titled "Theme In Search Of A Movie," and hearing him perform them on the piano is a double treat! The collection titled "World Class" (1984) features 8 songs including Hoagy Carmichael's "Rockin' Chair," "Woody's Lament" written by Al Cohn the tenor saxophonist, Chick Corea's "Crystal Silence," "Greasy Sack Blues," "Perdido," among others.
