World music, infused with jazz motifs and gipsy motifs, oftentimes creates some highly memorable performances, and such is the case with guitarist Bireli Lagrene's new CD collection, GIPSY PROJECT & FRIENDS. An energetic collection, this is sure to make new friends for the guitar performances of Bireli Lagrene. There are 14 selections on this CD. The collection includes such songs as "Djangology," "When Day Is Done," "Minor Swing," "Laura," "Songe d'Automne," among others. Among the guest artists are Diego Imbert on double bass, and Florin Niculescu on violin. The jazz listening audience will find this CD enjoyable. Bireli Lagrene is a fine guitarist, and this is a showcase CD collection for his many talents.
