If you are new to the lively sound of Tito Puente, or wishing to introduce a friend to his music, PARTY AT PUENTE'S PLACE is one of the most entertaining introductions available. This 2CD set will entertain!

This collection contains two recordings, On Broadway (1983) and Mambo Diablo (1985). Each CD contains eight memorable performances.

Disc One contains such songs as "Sophisticated Lady," "Bluesette," "Salt Song," "First Light," among others. Disc Two contains such songs as "Mambo Diablo," "Take Five," "Lush Life," "Lullaby of Birdland," and Mulgrew Miller's "Eastern Joy Dance."

This is a fine collection, each song a showcase for the talents of Tito Puente. If you are looking for a perfect Tito Puente collection, this 2CD set is the one! Billy Strayhorn's "Lush Life" and Paul Desmond"s "Take Five" are two of the wonderful jazz gems in this collection. Highly recommended.
