A mixer of jazz, funk, soul, and classic tunes fused into one fantastic CD. Twentysomething by Jamie Cullum, is well on its way to the top of the jazz charts. I was delightfully surprised as I listened to this CD, it reminded me of the first time I listened to jazz, it was very hard to turn off the radio, and you crave more of it like a bad habit. Almost all of the CD was recorded live, so you get a feel of the energy behind the music.
Jamie Cullum has only been on the US jazz scene since 2003, however he has been hooking it up in the UK for quite a while. Twentysomething is his first major label CD, and since it’s release in October, it has already sold one million copies. Now out of one million people, if you do not have your copy you are now out of date. There are fourteen tracks on the album, including one bonus track. "Twentysomething", by Jamie Cullum, is well worth listening and adding to your jazz collection.
