Sax-and-harmonica-player Jessie Allen Cooper has crafted some highly melodic and pleasurable jazzy instrumental music on his new CD, SOUND TRAVELS.
This is his sixth album and over the years he has worked with many top jazz and pop musicians including Charles Wright, Steve Reid (Miles Davis, The Rippingtons), The Coasters, Vail Johnson (Stevie Nicks, Kenny G), Russ Freeman, Ricardo Silveira, Rob Mullins, Steve Bailey (The Rippingtons, David Benoit), Larry Washington (Elton John, The Jacksons), Mike Smith (Bobby Lyle), Osamu Kitajima (Ottmar Liebert, Dan Siegel), Mike Thompson (The Eagles, Alanis Morissette), Mark Portmann (Celine Dion, Dave Koz), etc.
Primarily working in the field of smooth jazz (with a little soft instrumental music, blues and world music thrown in), Cooper performs on saxophone, harmonica and keyboards as well as composing, arranging, engineering and producing. Although he brings in top musicians to augment his sound, Jessie watches over every detail of the record-making process.
Check out this diverse, yet strong collection of instrumental tunes.
