Dialogues indeed! It takes a lot of guts & talent to put your artistry on the line, under the guise of a sax & jazz piano duo. It holds up well, thank you in the capable hands of these two journeyman performers. Both Liebman & Markowitz complement themselves with their exploratory solo work & attendant witty melodic & harmonic commentary. It's all here: Playful fills, interesting countermelodies, & a wondrous tightly knit interaction borne of two consummate jazz artists. The project abounds with a polyphonic liberty, a precise articulation, & most important, a clarion tone.
