Live In Brooklyn by Arturo O'Farrill

Rite away we hear O’Farrill’s pianistic prowess jump out at us from the depths of his Project. His remarkably mature, even, & uplifting pianistic style enhances his subtle yet varied use of interesting jazz harmony, while he employs the full range of his instrument to complement his sidemen. This is a guy who will test us with sensitive, harmonic changes & florid melodic accents. I don’t think I overstate my case when I say that Arturo is a contemporary role model for the modernist school of jazz piano. I offer you Arturo’s very personal, disciplined, & versatile keyboard style, equating it to the resonant tone & firm rhythmic sense of another fine jazz pianist, one Herbie Hancock.
