Eliott James takes his passion for acoustic instruments to another level on his release Cinematic Life. By using the cello, harp, piano, upright bass, guitar and some sounds of nature like falling rain and chirping birds. Atmospheric tracks like "Deep Forest Rain" and "Midnight Desert Run" paint the necessary visuals for you. He creates his own personal cinema for the body, mind and spirit without uttering a word. It is very effective.
James is multi-talented man, not only because of his ability to play several instruments but the uncanny aptitude for taking everything, mixing it, producing it and then coming up with an end product that is fascinating. When you look at it in proper perspective, it really is amazing what one person can do. I am truly astounded with an artist like James and I stress the word artist. Obviously today’s technology does help but you have to know how to use it, its not talent that you acquire overnight. I can totally appreciate every aspect of this project and the tireless work that went into making it happen.
Think of the music of Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk interspersed with the latest technology and beautiful acoustic guitars and pulsating rhythms, some contemporary jazz injected in just the right places, and you are right in the middle of a Cinematic Life. The title could not be more appropriate. This music has the ability to take you anywhere you would like to go. Its like having your own "do it yourself world" at your fingertips. Just put the CD on and let it all happen.
