The CD’s opening track "Rain" gets a bit trippy, with spoken words against a dark backdrop; a good movie soundtrack theme. A melancholy melody develops with haunting violin, the sound of a train slowly moving off into a mounting storm. A marching beat and sustained violin riffs override an orchestra that builds a wall of sound.
Some of the songs on the recording have a folkloric feel to them, pleasing sounds, and melodies that are interesting and enjoyable. It becomes easy to picture some form of folk dancing to these songs, "Poleshko Pole," "Night" and "Adagio" are all songs strongly reminiscent of folkloric ballads.
The song "6AM Vegas" sounds like a shanty or a jig, a rip roaring, good time feel, East Coast party music. Dr. Draw changes direction once again on the song "Nostalgia" creating a very classical feel over a slight funk rhythm, reminiscent of a Jean-Luc Ponty style of composition. The band stays in the funk spirit for the next tune "The Party." These are the songs that feel the most natural for the band as a collective. The spirit that is conveyed on these songs match the image that the band seems to be portraying on their publicity shots.
