Jean Shy sings Ella Fitzgerald

Born in Chicago, Jean’s vocal background had it’s beginning in Gospel Music. At the Age of twelve Jean made her first recording for the legendary Chess Label in Chicago. Later Jean signed a Recording Contract with Brunswick Records. She also recorded for Playboy Records, Fantasy Records and others.

JEAN SHY has worked with some of the best Jazz Musicians Internationally, i.e.: Legend Earl Palmer Drummer; Larry Gailes Bass; Drummer Roy McCurdy; Lou Forestieri Piano - He wrote the Music Score for the Movie "For the Boys" amongst many others; Billy Mitchell Piano; Legend Paul Kuhn Piano; Kurt Bong (Drummer and former Bandleader of the Hessischer Rundfunk Orchester, Germany); Dieter Reith Piano/Arranger; Tootie Heath Drummer; and others.

The Climax Band has played an important role in the Jazz Market in Germany and neighboring countries since over 20 Years. Jean Shy & The Climax Band are celebrating their 20 Year Stage Anniversary together this Year. On this occasion a Jubilee CD entitled "STILL SWINGIN’ (AFTER ALL THESE YEARS) has been recorded live at a Concert in Cologne, Germany and has been released recently on King Edward Records.

The Jazz Band Ball Orchestra from Krakow, Poland, is Poland's oldest and Internationally most well known European Jazz Formation.

The Band has been fully professional since 1972 and has played in almost every European country. From 1979 the group has played regularly at the greatest traditional jazz spectacle in the world, the Jazz Jubilee in Sacramento, USA. Owing to its great successes, the Group has been invited several times to Vancouver and Victoria in Canada and has played in Florida, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. In 1983 in Sacramento the JBBO Fan Club was founded.

One of the Highlights in the career JBBO was in 1987 when they served as musical U.S. Ambassadors for PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN.

In May 2002 Jean Shy & The Jazz Ball Orchestra are performing together in Poland, Slovakia and Hungary and are available for bookings Internationally. Also looking for Agency representation for all Territories except Germany and Benelux.
