TD Toronto Jazz Festival - Canada Day Celebrations

TD Toronto Jazz Festival presents the legendary Roots crew,

graffiti, break-dancing and more!

Toronto – This Canada Day, Metro Square is the place to be! Bring the whole family down and join the TD Toronto Jazz Festival as we celebrate the Nation’s birthday with a jam-packed day of music, fun, food, and free promotions.

The afternoon kicks off with free musical performances by Heavyweights Brass Band, a local New Orleans’s style jazz group, and 2010 Juno award winning Canadian rapper Shad. Then watch professional aerosol artists Mediah and Elicser as they create a huge six-panel art piece inspired by sounds of the Festival. Be sure to catch break-dancing troupe Funk Fanatics as they battle B-Boy style every 15 minutes. For those 19+, Smirnoff will be sampling on site at

Metro Square, offering alcoholic refreshments. And of course, let’s not forget the kids.  Free face painting available all afternoon! The legendary Roots crew will close off Canada Day celebrations later that evening with a ticketed performance that will blow the roof off the tent.

Come and enjoy a fun-filled day for the entire family! Visit our beer and wine gardens, enjoy the BBQ fare or simply come down and enjoy the festivities at the heart of the Entertainment District,

Metro Square.

The 2011 TD Toronto Jazz Festival is sure to be bigger and better this year with 350 concerts, 1,500 musicians, 40 locations and 500,000 people all jammed into 10 eventful days. Do not miss the chance to listen to local, national and international talent playing a diverse range of genres in the heart of the city, The Entertainment District.
