Movin On by Jeremy Scott

Born in 1982, saxophonist Jeremy Scott has become one of the most talented and well-known Milwaukee area musicians at his age. He has been playing Jazz and Gospel music regularly in the Milwaukee area for the past 12 years. After encouragement from his father, Jeremy picked up the saxophone at the age of 8 and has never looked back. At the young age of 22 Jeremy has already made a name for himself having traveled across the United States as well as Europe performing on the saxophone. He currently is studying to obtain a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Since picking up the saxophone in 1990 he has been studying with well known Milwaukee saxophonist and educator Curt Hanrahan. He has also studied with local Milwaukee jazz legend saxophonist Berkeley Fudge. He has also been a saxophone instructor for 3 years.

Jeremys extensive musical achievements are very impressive for someone at such a young age. Jeremy has performed at 'taste of Chicago" Milwaukee's 'summer Fest" "Jazz in the Park" 'summer Sizzle" and the 1998 W.A.M.I. awards show numerous Milwaukee Brewers Bucks and Admirals games (playing the national anthem). He has also opened up for renowned artists Smokey Robinson and Tuck & Patty. One of Jeremy's performance highlights came on August 14 2002 when he performed for President George W. Bush at a speech he gave on the UW-Milwaukee campus.

Jeremy's musical carrier does not only involve performing but recording as well. In 1995 at the age of 15 Jeremy recorded is first demo entitled "15 & Movin" On". Two years later he wrote his first big band chart called Intensity (which was the titled track of the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee Youth Jazz Band ensemble CD that year). In 2004 Jeremy produced his first CD called Movin" On (Named after his 1995 demo 15 & Movin" On). Jeremy not only produced and played sax on his CD he also wrote 90% of the music and played the keyboard on 8 of the ten tracks. Also Jeremy recorded a CD with the smooth jazz group called Emerge where he wrote the title track called Inspiration. That same year Jeremy played on the movie sound track "Yes Men". "Yes Men" produced in Milwaukee Wisconsin can be seen in movie theaters nationwide.

Jeremy is single but enjoys a very close relationship with his family. Along with his parents Pat and Will Scott he has two sisters Kesha and Jennifer. His father Will Scott has been a major motivator and inspiration to the young saxophonist. Jeremy always lists his family as key elements in all his success and his ability to stay grounded.

Even with all Jeremy's musical achievements he always confesses that his relationship with Jesus Christ is the most important thing in his life. In 2001 he became an ordained minister at Greater Grace Temple (COGIC) in Racine Wisconsin.
